A platform for remote diagnostics, scheduled maintenance and incident management for distributed assets.
Bespoke software development, evolutionary maintenance, third-party integration, and built-in observability.
Companies with large technical monitoring operations often face challenges in terms of efficiency, visibility and traceability, especially when their traditional operating model is based on manual tasks, multiple disconnected tools and limited remote diagnostic capabilities.
Our client managed a wide range of technical assets spread across different countries, which required technical teams to be sent out to inspect them. The need was clear: to centralise operations on a common platform, automate repetitive tasks and provide staff with tools capable of acting on reliable data, in real time and from any location.
Starting point: manual and fragmented processes
The company’s operations relied on regular on-site inspections to check the condition and performance of each asset. Time was a variable that was difficult to control and almost impossible to optimise without technology. We needed to move away from a model which, whilst functional, involved duplication of work, risks of human error and a lack of traceability.
There are contexts where failure can have critical consequences, so it was important for our client to modernise its processes and centralise all relevant information on a single platform, regardless of the system and country.
The main objectives of the project were:
- Automate the technical assessment of the condition of assets.
- Replace in-person checks with remote checks using digital evidence.
- To integrate various sources and operating systems into a single suite.
- Improving the management of critical incidents through traceable checks.
- To establish traceability and centralised control for multiple locations.
Solution and functionalities in a single platform
The result was a comprehensive platform consisting of three interrelated functional modules:
Automated diagnosis of asset condition
- AI-powered anomaly detection through comparison with a baseline configuration.
- Alerts regarding disconnections, synchronisation failures or issues with the asset’s local storage.
- Status validation through periodic comparison with automatically generated reference patterns.
- Status validation through regular automated checks against a reference profile.
Scheduled remote review
- Configuration of routes for regular checks on the condition of assets by site, frequency and times.
- Customisable forms by customer and country.
- Digital evidence collection, validation of technical incidents and automatic report generation.
- Scheduled and grouped sending of reports according to each client’s rules.
Event management
- Reception of events from multiple sources (integrated platforms, external systems, etc.).
- Validation by operators via downloadable reports and access to historical data.
- Linking locations, assets and associated events for subsequent contextualised analysis.
- Advanced monitoring via an interactive dashboard.
Architecture and integrations
- Integration with CRM systems to synchronise customers and centres.
- Embedded observability through integrated dashboards for monitoring operations.
- Permission and visibility system by group and country.
- Modular and scalable architecture, based on Clean Architecture and CQRS principles.
- Interaction with assets via APIs: evidence collection, remote configuration adjustments, etc.
Results
- A significant reduction in travel and in-person inspections thanks to the remote verification model.
- Proactive detection of technical faults using artificial intelligence.
- Full visibility of all assets deployed across different countries.
- Complete traceability of each review, event or incident.
- Continuous functional evolution under an agile sprint maintenance model.
This project enabled a shift from a fragmented operational model to intelligent management based on structured data and automation. Today, the solution is used on a daily basis by technical teams based in various countries, improving responsiveness to any incident and reducing reliance on manual tasks.
