The REMOURBAN project has been selected under the 2014 FARO call as one of the most outstanding projects within the European context of Smart Cities. This initiative was conceived and presented by a consortium lead by Cartif and composed of the most innovative companies in the Smart Cities sector, such as Acciona, Iberdrola, Dalkia, GMV and Xeridia, and also Valladolid City Council.

Remourban will develop and prove a sustainable integrated urban regeneration model, that will embrace the implementation of innovative technological solutions in the energy, IT and transport sectors. As the experts in Big Data solutions, Xeridia will deploy Smarkia, the ICT platform that will allow the retrieval and analysis of citywide consumption and energy saving data. The monitored information will come from the infrastructure, the renovated buildings, and the electric cars, as well as inputs from the citizens.

The project, cofinanced by the European Union within the Horizon2020 program, has a budget of 23,8M €. Actions will take place from 2015 till 2020 in Valladolid, Nottingham (United Kingdom) and Tepebasi/Eskisehir (Turkey).

The ultimate goal is to hasten the transformation of these lead cities into smart urban areas for the sake of social progress and environmental recovery, seeking to become an European and worldwide reference in the innovation field.
